Are You Listening?

Research has discovered that “Attention Deficit Disorder” (ADD) affects approximately 20% of Americans and is generally discovered in 8 – 10 year old children. College instructors report their frustration with college students who exhibit limited concentration, usually about 15 minutes due to what is being called “Commercial Gap Syndrome”, a modern term for Attention Deficit Disorder, derived from extensive TV time where commercials interupt programing every 10 - 15 minutes.

Knowing this information, one of the first things that a parent can do is to purposely spend more time "playing" and interacting with their children and less time sitting in front of a television. Researchers say that educational toys are a great tool for parents and caregivers to use during a child's daily play time rather than television. There are numerous resources that parents can use which promote educational play as well as various developmental activities.

As parents devote their time in the education and development of their children by introducing educational toys into their daily activities and play time, they and their children will reap the benefits for years to come. Parents must remember that their child's educational and developmental future lies in their hand. So why not make an investment as early as possible in your child's life helping them to unleash their potential to become as successful as they can possible be.

Children are hard students because they are easily distracted by other things. Through educational toys, learning will be much easier and better.

Physical and gross motor skills are developed as a child learns to reach,
grasp, crawl, run, climb, and balance. Fine motor skills are developed as children handle small toys. Dexterity develops as the child holds toys or other items.

Educational offers lot of benefits for kids. It cultivates their young minds to think critically. Spending more time in front of a television is not advisable. Mix influence of good and bad are shown in the television which are not good for kids developing growth.

I am all about this post! Kids are impatient, unimaginative, and completely lost without tv and their video game devises. Educational toys rock! And time spent with doing fun, daily activities with your kids has got to be waaay better for them than sitting them in front of the tv or game system. I have an awesome new webstore that caters to just that! Check it out! www.coolcreativekids.com

Truly educational toys are very influential in our kids' development. I often hear kids say that educational toys are boring. Some of them are but you don't have to look hard to find toys that does not look educational but will actually help your kids develop logical and thinking skills. Don't tell your child that the toy you're giving them are educational toys else they will really put them aside

Kids are constantly learning, especially in the early years. So why not give them the toys that are going to best enhance that learning. Limit tv and computer time and add some simple toys to your play room such as building blocks. Now some kids may need some guidance. You may need to get down on the floor and help them a bit, but they will catch on quickly! Its so great for so many aspects of their development! I have a lot of these kids of creative toys on my website: www,playlearndiscover.com. You will be surprised how long these kinds of toys will keep your kids busy!

I have been reading more and more about this. I have also witnessed this first hand. I am a nanny of two preschool age boys and I find that even at their young age the tv is affecting their attention spans. I also think that it is not just the tv, but some of the toys they have that light up and make noise, etc. If kids could be surrounded by more educational toys all day they would perform much better in school later on. Check out this website for some great educational toys: http://www.playlearndiscover.comd
